TEMECULA VALLEY JUNK PICK-UP BLOG

Mattress Disposal in the Temecula Valley: Your Options

Short answer: most charities in California won't take a used mattress, so your realistic options are recycling, your trash service's bulky pickup, or a junk removal team that carries it out for you. We pick up mattresses and box springs from any room, usually the same day or next day, and take them to recycling whenever a facility will accept them.

Can I donate my old mattress?

Usually not. Used mattresses are hard to donate in California, and most donation centers turn them away. A mattress that's nearly new and spotless is sometimes accepted, but call the charity before you load it up.

Can my mattress be recycled?

Yes, in many cases. California's Bye Bye Mattress program pays for much of the recycling of mattresses and box springs, and recyclers recover the steel, foam and fabric. The mattresses we pick up go to recycling whenever a facility will take them.

Do you take mattresses and box springs together?

Yes. The box spring, bed frame, headboard and adjustable base can all go in the same trip, and adding them costs less than booking another pickup. We take every size, twin to California king, and every type: innerspring, memory foam, hybrid and adjustable.

Can you carry a mattress down from upstairs?

Yes. We carry it out from whatever room it's in. A king memory foam mattress can weigh more than 100 pounds and has nothing to hold on to, so it's one of the most common things people call us for.

How much does mattress removal cost?

Mattress removal is priced by how much room your pieces take in our truck, from $148, plus a disposal fee for mattresses. Labor, loading and hauling are included, and you get a firm price before we start. Try our instant estimator for a ballpark on your exact pieces.

What about my trash service?

Some city trash haulers include a few bulky-item pickups a year, and mattresses are often on the accepted list. You'll need to get it to the curb on the right day. The bottom of each of our city pages lists what we found for that city.

Hotels, rentals and apartment communities

If you're replacing mattresses in batches, we can pick up a whole order at once, carry them out from each room and invoice the property.
